Here's an FBI shipped 1076 that after over 10 years of searching diligently, I was able to find one of the elusive 11 round mags right here on the forum from one of our great members. So here she is with all 3 length issued mags and the Safariland holster that agents were issued with this pistol. May not sound like much of a find, but to those collectors who have the big 11 inch gaping hole in their FBI 1076 set, it's like winning the lottery for me👍

Here's an older pic with the 15 inch mag inserted. Easy to see why that mag got tossed for practical reasons. But, it's fun to take to the range and let rip.😀

Break out some Mothers and shine that baby up!

Absolutely amazing kit. Interesting to note that the somewhat low TEU prefix wasn't a Test and Evaluation Unit. Even more interesting is that this could even be referred to as a Lew Horton FBI 1076 if you really wanted to get fancy :P

A true TEU FBI 1076 is on my list of "in my dreams" guns. Looks like you're living the dream!

Congratulations, sir!

Chuck, gonna look great with those 13-2’s. LadyFed retiring?

Ladder13, great minds think alike. It's with them right now! Yes, LadyFed is in the window to retire. The DC swamp is deep she's tired of treading water especially these past three years here. Good to hear from you again and I see you got out of snowville too. Good for you my friend😀

Great to see you posting Chuck.

My how time flies, it seems like just yesterday LadyFed was graduating from the academy.

Amen to that brother! Time is moving at hyper speed now that I'm getting older. I'm slowly getting back into things S&W after a long break. Good to see many of the old guard still at your posts here on the forum👍

TEU 0327 is one of the initial 200 shipped for testing and evaluation by the Firearms Training Unit at Quantico. It later became a red handle trainer for new agents training. Folks often misinterpret the TEU serial prefix on these early FBI shipped guns as representing
Test and Evaluation Unit. There's no such unit at FBI Quantico, just the FTU. Wish it were so because it'd make for a much more interesting story on the 1076.😄

Very informative, thank you for the info! I should know these things if such a pistol is to be my holy grail!

I can tell you how rare an 11 or 15 round magazine is. I was an Agent in the FBI and carried a 1076. I never saw one or heard of one until this forum! Cool though.

Interesting, new agents were issued 5 9 Rd, 2 11 Rd, and 1 15 Rd, early on when the 1076 was first issued. Guess the bureau decided pretty quick the 11/15 mags were not workable? Thanks for your service btw.

I was the second to last Agent to be issued one in 1995. A decent amount (5-10%) of Agents were still carrying them. I was a Firearms Instructor and was at the range a lot. Never saw the 11 or 15 round mags. Maybe they were recalled? Or more likely the original issue ones were recalled and the mags with them. The one I was issued was from a smaller group that were reissued after some bugs were worked out. I heard they were worked over by the PC. Only hearsay on that though.

Very nice setup sir, I had the same .... sold the 15 rd mag off, and traded the standard issue 1076 off... the 11 round mag accompanies me to the mountains with my FBI palm swelled 1026... some day I may part with her...:D

FBI 1026???!?

I don't think so.... then again I haven't had it lettered...

Although I dont think the FBI ever used 1026's

Maybe I read something a while ago about some older gentleman wanting the longer gun or using the longer 1026...

I prefer the longer length anyways IMO with a dawson persision front an a LPA rear she perfect

Ok I misinterpreted your post. I now realize you were referring to the grip. I wasn't aware FBI issued a 1026. You're correct, I don't believe they ever did.
