Hi, I've got a nice obviously redone nickled model 28 and the durn cylinder wont release when the latch is pressed. any suggestions? This gun was been worked on ion the past as its had the hammer and trigger jeweled as well as nickle job. Got all excited when I got it thinkingit may have been factory nickled but its a shiny finish as opposed to the matte nickel variety. Really nice job though. thanks for any help.

First, I'd look at the ejector rod. It may have come unscrewed a little making it a little long and binding on the locking bolt because the center pin cannot reach the locking bolt to push it in to make the release.

If the ejector rod is loose and you can't screw it back in enough to open the cylinder, then put a feeler gauge, say a .004, in between the locking bolt and the end of the ejector rod. Then open the cylinder.

Hope this helps
