Lord help me. The shooting, the yelling and smoke. They keep coming. I been told that Col. Travis is gonna send for help, maybe he already has but I sure wish they would hurry. Mrs. Dickerson and the others try to keep our spirits up but it is hard. More and more Mexicans are coming and that dirt and cowhide wall they have ain't gonna keep them out for long.
I don't know where they are putting the dead but the wounded are in the chapel. Rations have been cut cuz it looks like we gonna be here a spell.
Don't know how much longer we gonna be able to get our letters out but we're trusting in God to keep us safe.
