Hi all, I usually like to pick up one S&W a month but this month its three from the 70's. First up is two no dash 36's, niether with any issues, one from 1976 and another from 1978. Then to finish up the month a 28-2 from 1973 in six inch. The 28 was not shot much or carried a lot but did have some light surface rust on it here and there but cleaned up nicely with a few freckel's left on the finish to tell the tale. Funny thing is that they were all about the same price, one 36 for $330.00, one for $340.00 and the 28 for $349.00. No wonder Im always broke! Thanks for looking and happy hunting all.

Bob - you're certainly using up somebody's luck!

Very nice trio. That 6" looks serious compared to the two snubbies. Any one of those would have been a great find. Hope next month treats you as well.

Looked at a 28-2 in local gun store today, in about the same shape as yours. Good finish, but with an action job. Store wanted $675!! I don't have a 28, but I'm not ready to pay that much for one that will need action work. I think you did really good.

Plunder indeed!!!

Who did you rob a 28 from at that price??? That was a steal of a deal any way you look at it!!!

Thanks for the kind comments all! I dident rob the 28 from a person it was at perhaps the largest gun shop in central Pa, they dont have much regard for older revolvers and if one has any problems such as the rust issue they price em low. Samandglove1, I used four aught steel wool saturated with Breakfree to scrub the rust off. You can really bear down with it and not affect the blueing at all as long as the wool is well oiled. Funny thing is that the cylinder had perhaps the worst of the surface rust and it cleaned up perfectly with no freckels, the right side plate not so much, thankfully the rust had not yet progressed to pitting. I think I had to get ahead a month as tax time gets expensive for me! Soon as the weather warms up a bit I'll see how these boy's will shoot!

Seems like I see more great guns and deals from Penn than any other state. What's up with that? Florida is quite literally a desert unless you want to pay gunshow prices. joe

It is almost impossible to pass up deals like that, you have had an excellent February. I have been in a similar boat. was preshopping for my son and found model 15-2 an old fellow had traded in,carried much shot little,so I bought it. Then later that day I found a 6 inch 19-3 worth the money so I put it on lay away. Later when I picked up the 15-2 I saw a model 10 for $200 on the shelf and put it on layaway, all the while a 3 inch round butt model 36 there has been calling me. We are just human, how can we resist the temptation.
