Fed Bulk Pack Price??

Just bought a few boxes in Louisiana today at $15.97, last time I bought them (about 3 weeks ago) they were $14 something....maybe we will get lucky and that will be all of a price jump we see....

Are those the 550 packs? The pricing you cite sounds more like the 375 packs (same looking box) at Walmart.

Wow great response haha. Sounds like my local stores are on par. I wish that I had done more reading before hand because I'm stuck with a box of Remington Golden bullet and it sounds like plague ammo for the 15-22. 1st wal-mart I went to thats all they had so I got it. But the other wal mart has the federal so I'ma stock up.

Scuds03,

Before you write off Remington Golden, try it in your gun. While some folks have had problems, my 15-22 functioned flawlessly out of the box with the Remington 525 bulk pak.

I shot 150 rounds of the golden bullets without a problem. Then I read the list of ammo S&W says to avoid, so I won't shoot any more. Federal only costs a little bit more, anyway.

EDIT: It's about $18-19 for a Federal 550 box.

$18.97 around here. The big thing is that they now seem to have plenty and raised the limit on ammo from 6 boxes to 10.

Still not much .45 ACP, however. OK--almost never!

I envy all of you! I'm in Norcal and in my county
(Contra Costa) East Bay
Walmart does not allow ammo sales. So only Big 5, local gun shops or Online for me.

Grew up in Walnut Creek. Could buy ammo anywhere. Things have certainly changed. Though, we had to sign a paper list with address and phone at the sales counter.

Not consistent - that's why the reports vary so much. I have had entire bricks that shot flawlessly, while the next one (different lot number) had 10% duds.

I have had new boxes of Remington unprimed bass that had splits in half the cases after loading, and other boxes that had cases missing.

They always replace the junk, but its too much of a hassle. I wouldn't take any Remingtom ammo even if it was free.

Yup, that is still the going price for the 550 packs in the red box, at least for now, Cabela's here has the 550 bulk blue box for I around $22 if I remember correct .....the Wal-Marts around here do sell 333 packs of Winchester for $9.98, tried a box this past week....still sticking with the Federal Bulk.....

340six

You're down to your last 30 boxes (15,000+ rounds)?? no wonder I can't find any!

Just kidding. Wish I could get out enough to where getting low on ammo means getting down to 30 550-round bulk paks.

They have plenty at the store right now $15.97 still I think Location sets the price?

In Indy it's $18.97 but they have 510B 50@$1.47 - no limits.

I bought two boxes of Fed. 550 bulk pack at walmart in Shelbyville, TN last week for $16.95 and the shelves were full.
Bill

I have seen the Federal 550 packs at Wal-Marts in NE Oklahoma and SW Missouri range between $13 and $18 depending on the particular Wal-Mart store and the same ammo is usually $20 to $26 at gun shops.
