UPS delivered my order of 32 H&R Hydra-Shoc ammunition Saturday and I got to the range this morning to try it out in my model 432UC. Thought that my fellow 32 fans would like a report.
I was shooting from a bench at 25 yards, 77 degrees, and a dead calm morning.
Ten rounds: Average velocity 939 fps, standard deviation 20.5, extreme spread 67.7 fps, & 166 foot/pounds muzzle energy. All measured by a Garmin Xero C1 chronograph. Recoil wasn’t bad - typical for a full charge 32 H&R load. Accuracy could have been better but was certainly good enough for a 7 yard self defense encounter. But then we need to consider how poorly I shoot a double action two inch J frame! The empty cases came out clean with just a touch of the Ejector rod.
Overall I am happy with this ammunition and will using it as my carry ammunition in my 32 J frames.
