Hey Gang - for you ladies and/or your wives/girlfriends

Do any of you/they appendix carry with an IWB? What are you/they using?

I currently have BG380 and I'm using a Remora that I carry crossdraw appendix (left of my belly button). I'd like to find another holster that's tuckable IWB. I have a Desantis tuckable but its too bulky ( hard to put on and I can't adjust it enough for crossdraw).

My husband has a Minotaur that he really likes - its flush and has more adjustability (so to speak). However, its 'tall'.... I'm average height (5'6") and I wear pants (plain levi's) that sit at or above my hip bone which makes my mid section 'shorter'.

I love the Remora...and wish there was a similar size & feel IWB that has clips/tuckable. I could go with an appendix non cross craw (to the right of my bellybutton) if needed depending on holsters that are out there.

Thanks ahead of time!

I am a bit confused. Why doesn't the Remora work for you? You certainly will not find a more concealable or adjustable IWB.

Be safe.

That's what I don't understand. I wear my Remora tucked at most times. As easy to tuck as all my other IWB's and simply disappears when wearing tucked.

Surely, its tuckable.

Have you tried to practice drawing the weapon while you had a shirt tucked over it?

I haven't had any success trying to pull a shirt out without dislodging the Remora & the gun at the gun at the same time. Definately not something I wanna see in an emergency situation. But, maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Janster, I love the Remora - but I can believe it would pose serious problems from a "tucked" position. You might try a soft suede holster with a clip on it. I find them very comfortable and I am thin... really thin. Don Hume makes a good one, but, there are many others and they tend to be inexpensive, so you can experiment without breaking the bank.

Great good luck!

Janster, try a Milt Sparks Summer Special. It's a soft suede rough out IWB that can be configured for crossdraw or straight. Dale

Thanks Guys! I'll definately check them both out when I get a chance! J.P. - I'm not worried too much about the bank. This stuff is ultra important!

Janster... not to be sexist, but absolutely to be laudatory: "Good girl!" I am always excited to hear a woman who is serious about her guns and equipment.

If you want a serious IWB, then I recommend this from El Paso Saddlery... I use it myself with the Commander. It is extremely comfortable, doesn't ride too high and stays put.

Again... great good luck. Let us know what you decide on, please!

Jan,

I appendix carry daily. The smallest, lightest, tuckable holster I have found is from Highnoon Holsters - the Hidden Ally. The only problem with it was the clip was positioned over the cylinder so I cut the clip off the holster and took it to my local shoe repair guy and had him rivet it in place so the clip is now under the triggerguard which reduced the thickness of the entire package. Sideguard holsters sells the same thing (sort of). Their Tucksnap and Tuckclip models both have the offset clip/snap which keeps thickness down but they have reinforced tops where my Hidden Ally top is soft. The Hidden Ally disappears but one handed reholstering is a no no.

Hope this helps,
Dale

My wife carries her BT380 in one of my Minimal Clips appendix. If you need tuckable version than my Tuck Clip with 0 degree cant would work great for you. Take a look at my site.

No worries about the comment. I completely understand!! For some really weird reason, I've become really interested in this whole self defense thing. I've read about 4 self defense books & plan on taking classes too. I'm having fun!!

There's A LOT of holsters out there and I was amazed to see that you can make your own kydex holsters too (interesting, I don't have time for that).

I've got a lot of researching to do!!

Thanks Everyone!! I'll be checking out every recommendation!

Janster,
Let me suggest that you call Lisa Looper at Looper Leather. Lisa is a young mother who carries and shoots, and she has a few of her own holster designs. She will take time and talk to you. I just spent a good bit of $$ with Looper buying gunbelts and N frame holsters for duty use. They were able to custom create some basketweave, duty quality moonclip holders for me as well.
I say all that to say this, she is good people and you can talk to her with confidence...

Don't worry if you don't see what you want on their website, call Lisa...

SheriffO has it dead right. I've heard a lot about Looper and her name comes up every time a woman has a "fitting" problem. Best to deal with a maker who knows there's a difference between a man's holster needs and a woman's.

How thick is the Tuck Clip? (for the BG380)
The Desantis I have is 2" thick (including the clip) - I would like something thinner if possible.

The Tucker Cover Up just works great! It is adjustable for height and cant. You can tuck your shirt over the gun and holster.

Well, I would say you found a real possible winner, there. Adjustable cant and height and completely tuckable as well as being fully covered on the backside?

Doesn't get much better, methinks.;)

I did e-mail Looper. They don't make tuckables (yet). They're working on some new stuff and I'd be more than happy to check out their products!

Like Doritos (?? or was that Lays), you can never have just one (holster). :D
