I looked at a 1911 Pro with fiber optic front and rear sights, it sure looked fine. I need feedback on how well they hold up; my M&P Pro has a fiber optic front sight and I have had to replace it three times in a short period of time, it seems to be holding up now. Any thoughts are welcome.

Stop hitting the sight on the barricades?
They won't take a direct hit on the fiber rod.
There is also a technique for installing the rod so it won't slide out, and you have to break it to get it out..

Wasn't there an old joke about a shirt that had one button fall off repeatedly? Owner said "The tailor who made this shirt is terrible. This one button I have sewn back on 6 times myself, and it fell off again."

No direct hits, I had the rod replaced by a gunsmith two times, then I bought my own rod and installed it myself; it is staying together now. I was really interested in whether or not these fiber optics faded or deteriorated over time, if they do what is the time frame?
