I've never owned a J-frame. My Colt Cobra always sufficed as a carry gun for when you cannot carry a gun.

The pre lock 640 in 357 has always appealed to me. My shooting partner found one a few years ago. Very accurate little revolver. Comfortable to shoot with 357's - unlike the unobtanium J-frame 357's I've shot.

Saturday I went to a little gun shop thats off the beaten path. There it was, 640-1 in 357. Roll marks and forged case hardened trigger too! :)

It had a pair of Uncle Mikes 3 finger rubber grips on it. Makes shooting this little gem very easy.

I like this one so much I'm going to put it on my off duty ticket at tomorrows annual qualification. Great little BUG! Regards 18DAI.

Me too! Found one just like yours at a show for$460.

Now has laser grips and I carry it everywhere.
I particularly like the way the top strap and the top of the
barrel look overly engineered.
Very thick and heavy to handle the 357s.

Kudos!

Congratulations on a great find. My 640-1 is one of my most carried guns. I've tried a number of other things over the 7-8 years I've had it, but always seem to come back to the 640. Most of those others have moved on, but the 640's a keeper.

Congrats on a great gun. I got my 640-1 last Dec. at a gun show - incredible deal on NIB polished stainless gem. You will love it. I had a local gunsmith tune the trigger a bit and it is now really smooooth. Check out the Buffalo Bore Low Flash/Recoil Tactical .357 load for carry. It is quite powerful, but very accurate and controllable. Enjoy!
