Congrats! I only have one pre model 24 6.5" but I have a crap load of 44 mag so I usually shoot them out of the 44 mags. Actually, the pre model 24 of 1950 is a safe queen. I can't believe the prices and how long guns are for sale at my gun shop. If you can't turn it over in a few days it seems like a dead loss financially.
