Went to Lansing Mason Gun Show today. Haven't been finding anything worth buying. Had a trade that I just didn't shoot. So traded into this new Colt Commander. It goes with my full size Colt trophy and 3 others. Of course I changed the grips.
Show was not that good, put prevailed! Bob

That's a beauty, Clark.... I wish I knew there was a gun show there, I would have gone! Nice score! Well, since its opening day weekend firearm deer season I guess I'll just hit the woods with my muzzle loader. :D

I haven't been to that gun show in years but I always came across some interesting things there when I went. I was there once and came across a guy carrying what I thought was an M1A on his shoulder. I asked him if it was for sale, he said it was and he handed it to me so I could take a look. When he handed it to me I saw the switch lever and realized it was actually an M14. When I pointed this out to him he said it was ok because it had been altered and would no longer fire full auto. I handed it back to him and wished him good luck.

Hit the local show today - snagged a nice old shooter-grade Dan Wesson, but got a great laugh when an old grouch tried to show me a P-80 9mm (the Glock 19 knockoff) and proclaimed "...now that's a 700 dollar gun, so at 575 I'm taking a loss here!"

I nodded politely and stepped away, given they run about $450 locally NIB...oh the grouchy gun show chiselers. :)

Just got home from the local show here in northern Illinois, very disappointing. The number of tables at the show drop's every month and the crowd continues to dwindle. If this trend continues I can't believe it will be possible for the show to continue operating much longer. I'm sure this is exactly what the governor hoped for when he signed his "assault weapon ban" into law. The law stopped the sale of "assault weapons" and required people who own one to register it with the state, it has been a total failure as far as the registration is concerned. I have read that only a few thousand people out the possibly millions estimated to own these banned weapons have actually registered them. The state is being sued in an attempt to overturn the ban but even if it is overturned it may be to late to save the show. It's sad, I've been attending shows since my father used to take as a little kid back in the 60's, I'll miss them when they're gone.
