It sure does seem like a bad time to get an itch to buy a new Smith and Wesson. Every gun store seems to have rows and rows of empty shelves with the occasional over priced or rough conditioned Smith. I have always wanted a nickel S&W to add to my collection of Blued and Stainless guns. I am just very picky when it comes to Nickel. I cant deal with haziness or scratches. Blued guns just age so much more gracefully that nickel in my opinion.
Anyway, i was able to find a really nice 29-2 4" with a very nice nickel finish. There is just something about a 4 inch N frames that I love. Unfortunately there is no box, but for just over a thousand bucks, I think i did relatively well. The stocks do not appear to be original to the gun since the gun is from 1980 and the stocks have black washers. My understanding is that those were phased out between 72 -74. Just thought i would share!
Also, if anyone has a 4 inch N frame presentation box for sale, let me know!
