Finally Found My 3.5" .357 Magnum - after a long search

There's no doubt to collectors the full package is premium. In many cases, the box is more difficult to locate than the guns. My list of cases needed grows by the day. I really lucked into this one especially since it's so well preserved.

I recently acquired a 6.5" pre 29. It's pretty nice with original Coke grips (grips are excellent). It has some bluing wear on the end of the barrel. More wear than I would find acceptable on something like a 29-2.

No box and not pristine like yours.

Cant wait till I can post that heading. I been looking for the perfect 3.5” M27-2 since 1974. Couple years ago I found a close second, a 3.5”1954 Pre-27 Close….. but not quite my grail gun
Either the money was there and the gun wasnt. Or the gun was there and the money wasnt.

One day.

And your gun is beautiful and in the box too. Bonus!!!

I have 3 N-Frame pre-model 27's all "S" serial numbers
Can you tell me the approximate DOB's of any of these.?

#1. 6" Blue .357 no target Hammer or trigger, Patridge style front sight, non-white outline rear, blue front, aftermarket grips
Serial # S 832XX

#2. 5" Blue currently has 5" barrel numbered to revolver, but I received an additional 6 1/2" Blue barrel also serial numbered to the gun.

The 5" barrel has a sight with a small gold colored bead-not a ramp style sight,
The 6 1/2" barrel is a Patridge style (Target style to me).
It now wears Altamont Roper style Grips.
It also came with an extra 8 3/8th barrel, but I used that on another 27 I bought with a bulged barrel....it was not a serial numbered barrel.
Serial # S 1237XX

#3 3 1/2" barrel, Blue.....This gun was in rough shape when I bought it.
A gunsmith friend rebuilt it for me and used the rebuild as a feature article in our Firearms Assn News magazine. He is used to me buying guns that need a little help. No Target Hammer or Trigger, it now has a white outline rear sight, it has been re-blued and wears Altamont smooth Target Grips with star inlay, not S&W logo.
I never could afford a nice shape 3 1/2" model 27 and when I came across this one about 10-15 years ago, I bought it.
My friend only works on his own guns and those of very close friends. I am lucky to be one of them.
I am older than most dirt and stock or rebuild my guns to my satisfaction.
I currently use Altamont Grips on most of my N-frames, except those that are in cases.
This gun came with the smaller style grips with the diamond, but they were pretty well worn, no serial number on them. They are stored w/the gun.
Serial #907xx

Any help in determining the DOB's to these 3 N-Frames would be appreciated.
I don't know if they qualify as anything other than Pre-27's.
PM sent about posting a new thread.
