Finally got a 15-22

Any help is appreciated. I really like this rifle, but I won't be able to keep it if this continues.

Two suggestions.

1) put the stock trigger back in.
2) Install a CMC drop in trigger. I've never heard of an issue from anyone using it in a 15-22. You've put a lot of extra money in this gun on parts that don't deal with functionality. I suggest doing so now.

Thanks for the input. I dont plan on putting the stock trigger back in. If I have to buy another trigger, it will be a geissle. I'm just one who likes to get to the bottom of a issue. I've researched for 3 hours yesterday hoping to find similar experience. Everything points to disconnector being burred or spring upside down. I've check both issues with no problems discovered. With the upper off, I did function test and trigger resets fine.

There are many posts here of folks like you that like to get to the bottom of a trigger issue, while mixing & matching parts. I rarely hear of a satisfactory conclusion & see folks doing things that impact the safe use of the firearm.

There are several nice triggers that seem to work well in the 15-22... plus some that don't. I know from experience in trying a Timney that gave me all sorts of issues. I use CMC in my AR & 15-22 & it is perfect... thus that recommendation. As I said, lots of folks on this board use that trigger & I can't recall a single complaint. If you try another brand, fine, but just research it first. The 15-22 is not an AR & triggers that work great in an AR don't always work here.

For me, safety comes first. I have seen discussions where people do all sorts of things to make their trigger combo work... and many of them scare the poop out of me. That is why I like drop in units.

As opposed to getting rid of the gun I simply suggest getting a better trigger. Several really nice ones out there that work great in the 15-22.

Thanks again for your time and input. I'm going to try the alg trigger with the jp trigger spring the stock hammer spring.

So I'm pretty sure it's a disconnector issue. If I cock and pull trigger (holding hammer with left hand) and never let off trigger, then recock hammer as far back as it goes and slowly let off trigger it won't reset or go forward unless I nudge it. . I read where it's out of sync and needs polishing? So I put the alg trigger/jp springs back in and repeated this about 20 times. It started to reset itself almost like it was wearing/polishing itself. Is this OK or should I use another method for polishing?
