Innovative Arms M&P 15-22 Integrally Suppressed

Now I understand how one can use high-velocity ammo in the Innovative Arms M&P 15-22 Integrally Suppressed rifle. The overall length of the barrel and suppressor is 16½ inches. But, the "barrel" itself is ten inches long. High-velocity ammo fired through a barrel this length remains sub-sonic. The result is no sonic "crack."

I can't wrap my head around putting that much cash into a AR with a plastic upper and lower.

A couple threads down, someone wrote about their lower breaking. That would be most bad with a class 3 lower. Then there's the thread about the gunsmith breaking someone's upper.

Why not just buy a regular AR lower, and getting a dedicated 22 aluminum upper?

I can’t wrap my head around why you’d even bother to comment then?

I love the rifle and it’s a blast to shoot.
