Finally got my Pre-27!

Sabago son and others, can you post pics of your 3&1/2" 27s and pre 27s front on? I'm looking at a very nice "pre-27" that the front of the ejector rod shroud looks more rounded than any "S" framed pistols I have ever seen before.I hate to call it re-finnished since the rest of the gun doesn't look to over polished, but still, I wonder. Thanks, Nick

Nick,

Hows this?...

Over the long period that the NT-357 was in production you will note some minor variation in the front shape of the ejector rod shroud...

Congrats on the purchase, she is really nice!!!! Plus, that honest wear would make me want to shoot her all the time, ands thats what they are for. I have been outbid for over 6 months now, but you gave me hope!

FWIW, the Keith Brown 'cokes' fit my gunhand to a Tee. :D

BTW, I had a blued one that I had lettered...What high hopes I had,
that it might have shipped to somewhere in the Lone Star State or some famous local.

Of all places, it shipped to New York City. *G*

Hi guys. I'm bumping this to see if anyone can answer the question I asked in the post above about whether the pin sticking out the barrel lug is something that needs to be fixed or if it's ok as is.
I've never taken that part of a Smith apart before so I'm not sure what correct or not. I have not seen other guns with them poking out that far, hence the concern.
Thanks!!

These pins protrude more on the older models than they do on the newer ones. It is just a variation in manufacturing and not an issue.
