A few weeks back, I stopped by my favorite shop. I swore that the CS40 would be the last purchase for 2020 and until after the wedding, but I couldn’t pass this up when they brought it out.

I’ve wanted one since I was a kid; this checks off one on the true bucket/holy grail list.

2.5” 19-6. No box or anything, but it is in great shape. Story is that some guy inherited a couple of guns, and consigned some or all of them.

Brought it home today and had to share:

Congratulations
That is a sweet find

The 2 1/2" Model 19/66 just has a nice balance to it's lines

I admit to be more taken with a fully blued pistol than with a brushed piece of stainless

I know stainless is more corrosion resistant, stainless can have it's blemishes buffed away, stainless is less maintenance

But Blue steel in the proper proportions is just a thing of beauty.

Congratulations! Looks like quite a nice 1. Never found 1 at the right price/ condition. Did find it's stainless cousin:66-2. Really like it. Bob

Took me years to find one in that condition in a LGS back around the turn of the Century to replace one I'd sold to a friend a decade before.......after buying a brace of 3" 66s.

Folks in the know tend to keep them ...................

Thanks all!

I can’t wait to put some rounds thru it:)

I didn’t pull the 4” 66-3 and the 6” 19-3 out, but I did snap a couple more with some others that I was fiddling around with...

Ps, paid 800 for it, but considering the times and being in CA...not bad I think?

Now I’ll have to eventually find A 3” :0

Thanks for sharing, it's a beautiful revolver.

I also prefer a blued steel gun and in most cases search for them when looking for a particular model/size. However, I already had a very nice M19-3 with a 4" barrel, and was looking for a snubbie like the OP found. I came across an unfired (at least before I got hold of it) M66-1 RB 2-1/2" with box, tools and paperwork. Can't pass that up, and a stainless gun is a nice counterpoint to blued ones in a collection. Sort of an "Ivory" to the OP's "Ebony", if Stevie Wonder was collecting.

Love it! I wish mine had the box and everything else. If I ever come across a stainless 2.5” I’m going to get it and tell the future wife I can’t really check it off the list unless I have both...

(In her defense she claimed the 4” 66 as “hers” and also said to get the snub...I got me a keeper ;) )
