Finally bought my first S&W model 10 revolver. I've been wanting one for a long time and the opportunity arose and it's mine. It's a model 10-14 and I found out that they started with that series in 2002. I would like to know what year it was made and am having one heck of a time finding out. The serial # is DDK5415 so if someone here could help, I'd surly appreciate it. Heres a picture of her.

That's a good looking Model 10. I'd like to find a round butt model to match my heavy barrel square butt 10-6. Wish I could help on the year, I'm still learning that stuff myself

Very good specimen of a Model 10. I didn't see any serial number information on DDK in the 4th edition that I could find anyway. I did see 10-14 2002 introduced Internal Key Lock system heavy barrel only. In 2010 it came with wood grips, heavy barrel and IL.
I can't see in pic if it has the IL hole.

The 10-14 was introduced in 2010 as part of the Classic series. I don't have a date specific to your s/n. Did the box, docs etc come with the gun?

Nice 4" round butt. I have found that for IWB carry the four inch rides better than the 2.5 of my 66. I also figured that with the high cost of rim fire ammo presently, I have more fun with 38 spcl at comparable cost if I cast my own missile.

I bought my first M&P back in 1955. Needed nothing but bluing. Pencil 4" bbl, Franzite grips with thumb rest. Had it reblued & shot it for years. Someone needed it more that I did & swiped many years back. Sure miss that old faithful pistol. Smootist double action Smith I ever had

Very nice find. Now we are waiting on the range report.

The newest Model 10 I had was a 10-8. The oldest 1 was 1919. (M&P) All were good shooters. Had others in between. The only 1 I have now is a 10-5 from 1974. What's not to like about a 10? Bob
