It's so pleasing to see something brought to life--like a new life. it looks absolutely wonderful...very nice specimen.

I'm mainly just happy with my home made frame plug. The comments had me just realize that I must've done a really good job of cleanup on the last range outing.

It's been carried around almost daily since picking it up around Christmas time. It seems to be fairing well.

It was in good shape when I got it...a little dirty but mechanically perfect. It's got some small dings and scratches but will likely get more.

It gets the lint cleaned out weekly with the 442. They make a great pair.

Looks good with the Pachs, too. The humpback shape fits with that design. But then I'm biased, I love the Compacs.

Nice cleanup.
They look good, work good in the way they soak up recoil, and still conceal well. Win, win, win. The only downside is some extra weight, though on a steel framed gun it's less of a concern.

Great looking Bodyguard Rick! I prefer the steel J-Frames to the Alloy and Scandium jobs. Not too heavy, but enough to dampen recoil.

Good choice with the Pachmayrs. I go onto ebay and get the older COMPACs without that blasted emblem.

I like the plug work you did. Kudos!

I don't know why but I like the 649 and LOVE my 442. The idea was to put the bulk of the shooting duties on the steel gun, but the 442 is just more fun. Maybe that'll wear off eventually.

I was surprised at how shootable it is with magnums. It is certainly not an all day affair, but for a few cylinders full it's not bad at all.

It's perfect for being lightly dressed so it's nice to not have to layer up the clothing like I did with the others.

The Pachmayr grip does make speedloader use difficult. I may have to learn what these speed strips are all about.

Oh...and I don't mind the emblem myself.

RickA, I had the same problem with speed loaders with the Pachmayr compac's on my 642 but just relieved them a bit.

Nice gun, & pics! Now that the weather is starting to break I will be doing outdoor photos. I had Compacs on a 36. Really liked them. I am not a rubber kind of guy. Enjoy your cool Smith! Bob

Thanks.

I'm not a big fan of the goodyears either, but for shooting magnum loads out of a little gun, I'll take 'em.
