Well, after two long weeks I finally got to put some lead through it! I've been dyin' to try it out, but, I've had a string of bad luck starting with a really nasty summer cold. As soon as I began to recover, I pulled a muscle in my lower back, and that took me out for a few days. Well I finally felt well enough, today, to put some lead on my steel gong. I put 120 rounds through it with zero malfunctions! I shot 50 rounds of cheap Blazer 115g, 50 rounds of PPU 115g, and I followed up with 20 rounds of Federal Premium Personal Defense 124g JHPs. I'm real pleased with the way it handled. It felt good in my hand, and the recoil was tame enough to get back on target quickly. The only reason I stopped was because I ran out of ammo! I made a trip to the gun shop to pick up some more. I'm going to put 100-200 more rounds through it, and it's going into my EDC rotation.

Add me to the happy Shield owner club :)

congrats, and welcome to the club
;)

I love my PC Shield; 300+ rounds (all 115 gn practice and SD ammo) so far with 0 issues and lots of smiles. I haven't tried any other grain ammo yet, did you notice any variation in your 'accuracy' or point of impact between the 115 and 124?
just curious.

CONGRATS on your new Shield and finally getting to shoot it! When I got mine I shot 150 rounds as soon as I got home :).
My 9MM Shield eats everything I feed it form Blazer Brass 115 Gr to 147 Gr rounds of all makes! It is my Primary CCW! A GREAT add on IMO would be TALON Grip Tape! Give a Firmer Grip. So well I added it to my RUGER SR9E around 17 $
TALON Gun Grips for Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm/ .40
A GREAT Low Price Kydex Holster is the JELTECH. I have purchased 8 so far for my son and I and guys at the shop! A GREAT deal at 25$
Smith & Wesson – JelTecHolsters
And I also like my Alien Gear Holsters.they have a good 2 fer deal around 65$
Concealed Carry Holsters - Alien Gear Holsters - Gun Holsters

Extra OEM Magazines are a Plus. Some good Deals E Bay around 21$ ,and alot of places
pays to look around :)
FREEDOM Munitions Is a pretty good place for ammo

I figured there would be a slight difference between the two, but, I really didn't notice any.

Appreciate the info. I'm probably gonna add the Talon grips to my Bodyguard & possibly the Shield. As far as the holster goes, I have the N82 Tactical Professional model, and it's one of the best, IMO. It's more expensive than some, but its really well made, and one of the most comfortable. Oh yeah, and it's made right here in NC :) Here's the link:S&W M&P Shield 9MM | N82 Tactical

nice! no better feeling than poking some holes in paper or plinking!

Shot mine for the first time today. 200 flawless rounds!

I've got mine dressed up pretty nice now. Pach tube socks over the grip and a nice grip extender for my pinky. A joy to shoot.
