As some of you may remember I had posted about having a hard time deciding on my first custom leather holster for my 1911. After lots of research and deliberation I ended up not going with any of the holsters I had posted awhile back...one of those deals to hard to pass up. Well it arrived yesterday. My first and most likely not my last custom holster from Andrews Leather. Purchased a very lightly used Wrap-id & snap-on single mag pouch. Sam does exceptional work, the quality and construction of this holster & mag pouch are superb. Currently have the gun in a ziplock baggie and slid into the holster to block it some as it is so tight, even with the retention screw backed out it doesn't slide out easy. The snaps work easily, and don't come undone without some effort. Hope to add some pics with it one, but can say it does ride high. There doesn't appear to be any reinforcement in the opening of the holster, however, it doesn't easily collapse which makes it easy to reholster one-handed. Am hoping this will suit my needs for a range holster, with occasional concealed carry.

Tried to get some pics from different angles. Pictures with room lighting show the color better as the flash gave it a lighter appearance.

Looks good and thick. With a retention screw down on the muzzle end, does it drag on the front sight when drawing the pistol? I have a Lobo coming for my springfield that is similiar to your andrews, snap on. I've got a Hume Copy II snap on for my 3913 and asked Ray to duplicate it for the 1911. Being left handed, the snap ons are perfect, they eliminate the need of having to almost completely remove my belt to take the holster off. Good luck with it, hope its comfortable to wear

Good-lookin' leather- and comforting for you knowing for a fact it fits the way it's supposed to. I have the usual wide selection of cheap holsters- but the two I carry, the two I really really like and always use- are the two custom-fit leather rigs. Sometimes you do get what you paid for. Looks like you paid for some good stuff, congrats. (My favorite is similar to that belt holster but a Mitch Rosen.)

Well it is hard to tell if there is any drag on the front sight. I left my 1911 in a zip lock bag over night, and it is still very tight. I holstered and drew the 1911 several times from it this morning, a few times I did notice a few very small pieces of leather on the serration of the front sight. I put my 1911 back in the zip lock bag, and put it in my safe, as when I was drawing it from the holster it felt like I was going to pull my pants up over my head--as it had so much rentention. Ended up supporting the holster with my left hand to draw & reholster the 1911 several times. The snaps are very convenient, as a range holster it is easy to slide on without removing belt part way.

hey bud - hows it going - I like your new leather - if its that tight you could spray some silicone on it and let sit overnight with your gun bagged then work it some - enjoy your new leather

Hi CWH44300. Things are going okay. Thanks for the compliment. As awkward as it is posing for pictures, I took some of how the holster rides, as I know I appreciated when others posted--as it does help in the holster search. So here are a few extra pics., amazed at how well the gun rides close to the body, even with a plain dress belt. I do see a thicker gunbelt in my future.
