Yes, this should be over in another Department, but there has been much discussion here on the 327 Federal. Well SW has finally decided to start making these and the Pro 640 (357) after about 1 1/2 years of waiting.

I have ordered some dies, lead and FMJ bullets and brass along with a few boxes of factory ammo. I picked up some 85 gr Hydra Shocks at the gun shop but ordered some Gold Dot 115 grs.

So I hope it can have 15 minutes of fame here in the lounge, call it a BBQ gun:)

No Lock, Night Sights, 6 shots, Fluted barrel.

I really like the look of the sights. Want to hear a range report as soon as you can. Great looking Smith, with NO LOCK!

"Will they chamber the .32 H&R Magnum...?"

Yes.

"How many different rounds will it shoot besides the .327 magnum?"

.32 H&R Magnum, .32 S&W Long, .32 Colt New Police (same round as the S&W Long, only with a flat nose bullet), .32 S&W, and probably, the .32 ACP.

Nice gun sir. I would also like to have that configuration in a 5-shot 9mm with moon clips...but I doubt Smith will ever make it.

Now I wish my 638 had dovetailed sights like that...and no lock. If Smith starts making all their current line of pocket snubbies in that configuration, they're going to sell a lot of them.

You all realize I am leaving Kandahar in 2 weeks. Hopefully SWMBO will get the hint on what I want for a happy return gift!!

It will shoot these but I do not think the .32 ACP will work.

With the Speer 115 HP the MV is 1380 fps and 486 Ft lbs of energy!

When I get my reloading supplies I will do a range report. I have shot the round in a Ruger Sp101 and it's a screamer!

I like it alot. I have a Ruger Blackhawk in .327 Federal Magnum and I am really impressed by it.

I also really like the No Internal Lock feature of it!!! :)

As for the question about shooting the .32 ACP, whether it is suppose to or not, I am really unsure but I saw a guy on the firing range with a Ruger Model SP 101 in .327 Magnum and all he had with him was some .32 ACP ammo and he was shooting it without any problem in his Ruger. He told me he does it all of the time without a problem. Don't take this as it's okay to do it but I did see him shootng his Ruger with some.

After 1 1/2 years, looks like your waiting has been rewarded! Judging from the photos, S&W has done that Pro 640 right. The sights are great. Six rounds... nice hot round... can down load for those who prefer that sort of thing... what's not to like? I even like the barrel! I've been thinking about buying a ccw... and this looks like a really good idea for cc. In fact, this little round in a K-frame w/ say a four inch barrel would be ideal for the range and for use in the fields and woods.

32 acp has a slight rim and will chamber and shoot in 327 Federal. Nice gun, I have the Charter Arms Target Tracker in 4" and it does it's best with the American Eagle's by Federal.

It may very well shoot 32 auto, I have several pocket guns chambered for that round and have reloading dies. Several boxes of 60 gr bullets and loaded ammo, but I got it for the 327 Mag. Way more bang:D
