So I finally got a chance to install the Plug on my Performance Center Model 27-8. Of course I saved all the parts that I took out.
Looks better, and you can hardly notice anything was there.

Turned out good. Can barely see it.

Saw your YouTube channel. Tell Ayla "Happy Birthday" from Granny BWZ. :) Two of my grandsons had their 2nd and 11th birthdays the same week as her.

Very nice. I've noticed that it's much less offensive, plugged or not, on blued revolvers... especially ones with the old style cylinder release installed.

They feel better now that all my guns are spending their first night with me (in my safe, next to the bed) in two years. I just got my permits back last week after waiting the 2 years with just the permits to import them while storing them in a safe at my gun club. I haven't said much about it, because I didn't want to jinx myself. But I bought a safe today and got my guns from the gun club safe all in the same trip and went home with them. At least I am able to fondle them whenever I want.

I honestly don't see the point. It does not change the fact that it is still a recent manufactured revolver that came with a lock. If the fear is that it could engage when firing, well they do make Loctite green 620, applied correctly it will not move. Just my thoughts on it.

You're absolutely right. I just don't like the looks of a hole being there, and don't care much for the rattle it causes either. I was tempted not to do it, but I had bought the Plug and only have this gun that has the lock. I knew there will be folks who wouldn't have done it especially since it is one of only 258 ever made in this particular configuration. Even though its a recently manufactured revolver. I figured that since I will never sell it, and I can always put the lock mechanism back in at any time if I want, I'd do what I wanted to do. This thread is in no way shape or form a lock bashing thread.

A much neater and cleaner look. Definitely 100% guarantee that the I/L will NEVER lock up because it's not there anymore. :)

It looks great man! Did it come with the old style cylinder release or did you add that to it?

I added the old style release to my 627 Pro (in stainless of course) just because I rather the look and especially the feel of the old style release.

And while I love the look of your 27, I still wish they had a recessed cylinder on it. I just like the looks of the recessed cylinder over the modern cylinder as the gap between the cylinder and the recoil shield is smaller and to me makes it look better.

The 27-8 did come with the old style cylinder release, so I didnt have to change that. The only things I have changed are the rear sight slider (to a shorter one), the stocks and the Plug.
One thing that makes me okay with the cylinder not being recessed is that it is cut for use with or without full moonclips. I really like that feature enough to overlook it not being recessed. But I agree with you on that one.
Speaking of stocks, have you got yours that you ordered from John & Jennifer yet?
