Finally Shot my Shield

I think it took me about 10 min to get to the range from my LGS (I work PT there) and shot about 50 rounds through mine when I got it the week before Memorial Day. I just couldn't wait.
I sold one of the guys at work a Ruger SR9 several months ago and he was dying to shoot it and still to this day has not. I keep telling him that gun is probably crying to get out and play.

Well, you stood up to be counted on buying a Shield.
That's putting your money where your moth is.
Personally, I drive from the FFL's shop to the range, and
let go a few rounds, just to make sure I've got a functioning
firearm. Depending on whether it's new. or used, determines
how much testing it gets. Pistols get more rounds, of course.
I hope you never have to use your Shield for real, but at
least you've got it, and know it works. Carry on! TACC1

Thanks! I wanted to shoot it right away, but 2 days or so after getting it my back went out bad,( bending over checking my range bag & stuff of all things) & that put me about a month and more behind, plus my range is a 50 mile one way trip. The wife & I plan to go back soon, after this heat wave breaks. It works & I like it, and I'm looking into the Shielded Holsters I've seen on another thread. A Shielded Holster for a Shield how cool is that LOL

Thanks! And your right it is a great gun. My first 6 shots confirmed that for me, and I haven't shot for a while. So I was pretty impressed with my first pulls of the trigger. S&W really did a good job on it, I like many others believe it should be "Gun of the Year"
