Darn 10 day waiting period is finally over and I took delivery of my new DUU SN'd 15-22 yesterday and put it through my own little torture test at the indoor range. ran a patch down the barrel, wiped down everything else, and let'r rip. I also had 2 additional magazines, for a total of 3

This thing is an absolute blast:D:D:D 500 rounds of various flavors the first time out, here's a summary.

1) Started with 100 rounds of mini mags, 36gr HP, no firing issues, but the mag that came with the rifle failed to hold last round open. The other 2 mags didn't have this issue. Good news is that this magically went away after the third loading and all is well. I don't expect this to happen again.

2) 50 rounds of the 40 gr RN mini mags, no hiccups at all

3) 200 rounds of Fed. bulk 36gr HP, and there were a handful of minor feed or ejection related issues that I'll attribute to new gun break-in.

4) 50 rounds of Federal Lightning (40 gr LRN) from Walmart ($1.47/box of 50), no problem.

5) 50 rounds of CCI Blazer 40gr LRN, no problem. I saved the lead nosed ammo for last so that I could monitor the barrel for lead deposits later.

Just like my S&W 22A and Ruger SR9, this thing's a solid performer that appears will accept a steady diet of the cheap stuff. Only accessories I have right now are a foregrip/bipod combo and the NC Star 4 reticle red dot. Like everything else I get into, I'm sure I'll catch the dreaded black rifle disease in a big way.

John, glad to hear the gun is performing well for you. What foregrip/bipod are you using? Is it working out well for you so far?

I'm was thinking about getting the Mako T-Pod, but then came across an airsoft version for almost a third the price. They looked exactly the same. Perhaps one was polymer and the other aluminum.

After shooting my 15-22 off of a duffel bag at the range yesterrday I decided I need to get a bipod. Where did you find this one?

While looking through the description again, I answered my own question. The airsoft one IS plastic, while the Mako is aluminum. Anyone have experience with either of these? Are they pretty nice to use?

Here is the actual Mako one:

Man upstate.. TOO bad you couldnt make it to the Knob Creek machine gun shoot last weekend. As I saw MANY tables that had the grip-pod made from a very thick and durable polymer material. They were averaging about 20-25( at most) bucks at each of the tables.

You should have scooped up a handful to flip for a few dollars profit! :)

Don't fight it :D Enjoy your 15-22.

Oh I most certainly plan on enjoying it! I think the 22A pistol needs to have a little oil put down the barrel for storage, because the 15-22 is going to be shot for a long while.
