Had a 'hope this never happens in real life' moment today. I've been carrying Fiocchi .38 S&W Spl. SJHP 148gr. in my 1982 vintage Model 38 Airweight for several months now. I decided to make a quick stop at the range and make sure I could still hit what I'm aiming at. First round goes 'click' and nothing. 4 more fire normally and then getting back around to the first misfire, it goes off. On the one hand this is a great reason to be carrying a revolver as a semi-auto would reqiure immediate action. On the other, having a misfire in relatively new, well maintained ammo is very disconcerting. I put a box of 50 count 158 gr round nose magtech through it afterwards with no other issues so it was most likely not a light strike. Looking for a recommendation on reliable non +P carry ammo for an older Airweight.

I've been trying to build replicas of those but I can't seem to get the velocity that high without going over 17,000 PSI. (not that I can test the pressure) I did however find the bullet source Buffalo bore is using for those very soft GC bullets. (they cost A LOT!)

THIS is the source that I have for supplying to Buffalo Bore®. Is it the same as yours?

Sorry I forgot to mention the source. Yes, it is Rim Rock who is supplying the 158gr SWC-HP GC bullets for Buffalo Bore.
