How good is it? Is it hard to have a claim processed and actually get a payout? Do you have to get all of your guns appraised? Sorry for so many questions. I need some good gun insurance and I hate to go through getting a rider on my home owners policy.

The thing I like most about it is that you do not have to list any of your firearms or their serial numbers. Unless it is a "Scheduled" item (a single item worth more than $1300). Even in that case, I don't believe you need to provide a serial number, just a detailed description so they can check to see if it is really worth $1300 or more.

My homeowners (apt. insurance) wanted a list of my guns. I didn't like that. The NRA endorsed insurance asks that you pay on the amount of coverage you want not a description of what you want covered. They also now claim that they will pay replacement value not just listed value. You pay X amount per $100 of coverage. You choose how much coverage you need. Something like $6 per $100.

It covers your guns whether they are in your home, or on the road with you. As far as how they pay for claims, I do not know, as I have been lucky to never have had one lost or stolen.

My homeowners insurance will only pay $1,000 for firearms.

I have two good gun safes now. I should have bought a bigger one first time around. LoL...live and learn.

Best

I guess it depends on whether or not they got a bailout!
