Firearm Shortage

Stopped in at one of my favorite pawn shops yesterday. They normally have 3 cases of bottom feeders and 1 case of revolvers. They only had 1 single case of handguns and even those were spaced far between to make the case look full. The other cases were filled with assorted jewelry---probably the stuff they took in trade for the firearms.

I was in a Gander Store a few weeks ago, and surprised how many handguns they had. New & used. Bob

Yeah, It's all regional for sure. Was in Prices Creek general store in Burnsville, NC and they had all sorts of guns. Plenty of nice S&W revolvers, PC guns, etc. Even bought some .45 ACP FMJ ammo. But here in FLA there isn't much really.

I will start by saying I buy a lot of my guns from Buds as well. However, Buds loves unrest. As soon as one of these buying frenzies begins Buds halts 180 day layaways, raises prices across the board and adds almost anything that will be in demand to the Team Buds only list. They do it everytime, this time is no exception. The only difference this time is they are holding out tons of guns for sale in their brick and mortar store only, making next to nothing available online, and what they do make available is mostly Team Buds, so you have to spend even more over their raised prices. When times are good they have very good prices, due mainly to the volume they are able to buy in, but come a sales rush they become the other side of the coin. I don't mind it to a a degree, you take the good with the bad, it's their denial that they are profiteering over the unrest that really irks me. As for a big bore 500 for home defense, no way. The 460 stoked with a 45 Colt defense ammo would work however, but hopefully it would never come to that...

They're still not as bad as Cheaper Than Dirt. That place is the king of firearm price gouging!

Fortunately, many of us have the guns that we need just not all the ones that we want. If you can find a desirable firearm, it is over priced. We've been here before. Time to wait until supply meets or exceeds demand again.

Yes i have noticed a run on the 500 Magnums I guess after 17 years They finally caught on well.Sadly i had two of those bear guns kit yellow and red grip. Sold the pair well over ten years ago for $3,000.00. I am sure they are worth way more today to the right buyer.

have fun with it everyday.RON K.

In SoCal semi autos last a day or two, revolvers a week or so. Used S&W revolvers cost as much or more than new, depending on the model....Was in Bass Pro last week, 5 Ruger revolvers and 3 S&W's....No shotguns and the rifles were only the odd caliber's.....
