I didn't want to hijack the tread about the FBI 1960 training picture, but it got me to thinking of some old Anchorage Police Dept. Firearm training pictures, thought I'd post a couple:

What I want to see is some wintertime qualification photos!

When I was a kid in North Dakota I remember shooting an original Colt Navy percussion in January. Now THAT was hard core...

No brass to dig out of the snow, but reloads were awful slow with frozen fingers.

They lost more dept. photographers back then (bottom photo LOL, just kidding). I really enjoy these old photos, thank you!

And if any of the shooters wanted "ear protection" they just stuck an empty .38 case in each ear, or a cigarette filter.
Many old cops I knew who shot on department shooting teams, including my dad, were stone deaf after they retired.
