Firearms Historian - The Quest Begins..........

Robert,
Congrats on your progress, good luck with your Committee. I have heard some of them can be a real pain, especially if you are goring one of the members' sacred goats.

I am somewhat pleased that your school is actually making you work for your degree. It is a sad fact that recently, many of the prestigious schools have degenerated into the "pay your fee, get a 'B'" kind of paper mills.

I looked at your NYPD employee list for 1940; it could be a big rabbit hole for folks looking for family/friends that had cops from NYC around that time period.
Ancestory.com is my favorite rabbit warren when I just want to get lost.

The amount of time I spend on newspapers.com is embarassing. I can go there looking for info on a cop from the 1930's and 4 hours later I'm creating a folder on NRA Police Pistol match results. It is a time dump!!!

Mrs. Vivas is encouraging me to move my office into a separate building when we eventually move. I figure that after it's built I'll have a sign on it that says Roberts Rabbit Hole, because right now I'll tell her I'm diving into my archive for a couple quick minutes and then she doesn't see me until the next morning because I started unraveling an informational thread!

Best,
RM Vivas
