This is the fireball from the 460 S&W magnum shooting Hornady factory "equivalent" reloads. I took a film clip with my digital camera while shooting 4 rounds. I used a program called ACDSee and extracted every frame of film into a photo.

This took an hour or so to extract 3500+/- photos. Only two of the fireballs were recorded. That meant that the fireballs lasted less than the time it took to record a single frame of film.

I have shot mine at dusk and had to let my eyes get ajusted after the flash. Great picture Duckloads.

great picture, great flash. would be pretty about dark.

Well if the shot is close enough and you miss-you'll still set whatever you're aiming at afire! :D

*edit*

Just had a thought.....do NOT shoot that from inside your pocket!

Couldn't help it,all those stories of being able to shoot a revolver out of a pocket :D

Wowwwwww, now that's a flame thrower. I'd need to count my fingers after every shot if it was me.

Great pics....thanks for showing them to us.

Kill it and cook it all with one shot. Very economical.

Don't let the government see that, they'll want to tax you on it.

I bought that leather covered sandbag from Gander Mt. It has a little surface char, but otherwise OK. I've burnt / blown up several fabric covered rests. I used my nice S&W 460 XVR gun rug ONCE and only once. It blew / melted a hole clean through both sides. I forgot the sandbag once, and used a roll of blue shop paper towels. That was a bunch of fun for a few shots. Confetti blew all over the place. I threw away what was left of the roll.
