firing pin blues

today i put on a new set of grips on my s&w 21-4 thunder ranch 44spl when i got to the range everytime i pulled the trigger nothing happen the firing pin would put a dent in the center of the primer but not enough to set her off. i turned the screw on the main spring clockwise about one turn to make sure it was tight is this where i shot the dog it has always been a great shooter until now PLEASE HELP throwing rocks

Turn the strain screw (main spring screw) all the way clockwise until it is tight. This isn't an adjustment screw it is the tension screw and needs to be fully seated.
 
If the strain screw is tight I would check for carbon/gunk in the firing fin channel. They can get sticky sometimes. I had one that got carboned up and would not let the firing pin retract fully and caused the cylinder to drag. I guess it could work the other way also but I'm old and don't know much.:)
