First F-35 combat mission

Just saw on the news that the F-35 drew blood on its first combat mission. On November 9 and 10, carrier-based F-35Cs conducted air strikes against Iranian weapons storage depots in Yemen.

Hope the combat mission didn't cost more than the weapons destroyed!

It was the first time the USN's F-35C was used in combat. The A and B models had already passed that threshold. The B flew against the Taliban in 2018, and the A against Islamic State in 2019.

Not to mention Isreal using them against Iran.

Counting what it cost for the carrier and support vessels to transport the F-35s there, almost certainly a great deal more.

Considering that the cost was invested in reducing the risk to our troops and our allies, I'm good with that.
