My son bought his wife her first gun (642-1). I just finished the holster and belt I made for her. I suspect it won't get much use but I had to make her one anyway.
I doubt if your DIL likes you advertizing her waist size. Chicks are funny like that.
Very nice! I have dabbled in leather crafts and have all the tools for doing something similar to that. The belt is no problem but a pattern and type/thickness of leather for the holster would sure save a bunch of trial and error. Was it a kit? If so where could one be obtained? I too have a j-frame (640 in 38spl). That's why I have a keen interest.
Thanks, John
All my tools, patterns, perimeter stitching material and belt blanks have come from Tandy. Closest store for 26 years is over 200 miles so I've kinda slacked off, but ironically I dug out everything just last week and looked through it. I've got a couple of belt blanks, plenty of stitching material and some leather, but the leather looks to thick, maybe not. How do you measure it? I did do a quick search for a pattern, no real leads, I'll look some more.
Thanks Roger, John
PS Probably shoulda PM'd you so as not to clog the gun forum.
