Dang, I practiced hard but don't think I shot worth squat.
I won a prize for best "unrated-first-timer", so I chose a box of ELEY ammo.

The Model 41 is, indeed, a tack driver though.

I have a good coach and plenty of time and ammo, so the plan is to get my swingers from Widener's welded up and practice some more.

What a great sport!

My stepson has started shooting Defensive Pistol Matches, 3 Gun, and Long Range Tactical Rifle Matches with me. He does not understand why he can buy the same equipment I am using, and he is in great shape, and I still kick his tail in all shooting sports.
The Pay your Dues thing comes into play. I started shooting IPSC in 1977. You can buy into the best equipment, but experiance comes slower. I am sure Jerry Miculek did not start out shooting like he does now.
My advice, hang in there, You will get better.

I wish you would send some of that rain water up this way, We can use it.

Interesting phenomenon of being very accurate when practicing and between rounds, but when the clock starts it's a different world in which accuracy is a rare commodity. :o

Just stay at it...speed comes after accuracy. A slower hit(s) are better than a fast miss! It has been said that practice makes perfect, acctually..perfect practice makes perfect.....You have a good coach and i'm sure he will "point you" (pun intended) in the right direction.

Thanks

Back to the range again yesterday morning and tried to stay focused on breathing, slower pace, and rhythm. It sure helps accuracy.

My metal silhouettes came in this week, and I'm taking them to the welder this afternoon. I look forward to being able to actually practice on what we shoot during a match.

Besides being inexpensive, this rimfire shooting sure is fun!
