I am no expert but that doesn't look like Factory Nickel finish to me.
What kind of documention do you have on the history of the K22?

I have several K-22s on my SN list having serial numbers close to yours which shipped in early 1932. It's unlikely it was factory engraved and plated at that time as the market for any luxury product was extremely limited in the early 1930s. The typical procedure would have been to engrave a blued gun, and then plate it. That could have been done at any time after the revolver first left the factory. Have you obtained documentation, such as a factory letter, to establish who the engraver was and when the engraving was performed? Another thing I forgot - I doubt the Magna stocks are original, as they did not exist at that early time, or at least I don't believe they did. What's the SN on the back side of the right panel?

But yours has a K ahead of the digits. The letter is a part of the SN. Also, before WWII, K-frame target revolvers were serial numbered in the same range as the M&Ps. After WWII, they were SNed separately.

DEalt, you are right the grip has been replaced, probably to match the 1950 4" k22 in the set.

The wear on the cylinder release appears not to match the condition of the rest of the gun.
