Realize that "The Metal" has been on the market for awhile, but I've been a diehard carrier of another very popular polymer framed, striker fired, brand for years and I'm somewhat resistant to change by nature.

As I've gotten older I've developed cataracts. They're not at a level yet that insurance will cover any corrective costs, but they're at a level that makes 25 yard and beyond shooting a problem.

Enter "The Metal".

I took it out last week for the first time after mating up with a Trijicon RMR2.

SOLD !!!!!

Fantastic trigger on the 2.0 variants (really didn't like the 1.0 versions I'd tried compared to my G19), much better ergonomics than my G19, and the Trijicon is a very user friendly dot.

Attached are pics of my Metal and a target from the last series of rounds in an initial 200 round test. Lower group at 15 yards slow fire and upper group at 25 yards slow fire. I was using WWB 115 grain FMJ for the lower, S&B 147 grain JHP for the upper. Speed will come later, this session was an initial break-in, sighting, and familiarization.

I'm happy with the first experience of using an RDS equipped pistol, and very impressed with the pistol itself. More than happy as a matter of fact.

Anyone care to share their experiences with more trigger time on their Metal?

Congratulations OP, glad you enjoy it, and finally some one here who can actually shoot a tight group at 25 yards instead of 7.

I see groups like yours here all the time where the OP doesn't say how far away it was and you have to pull it out of them and then they say 7 or 10 yards ect:, and most of the time their group is not even as nice as yours.

Nice shooting op.

Thanks for the kind words but...I didn't show you the previous 170ish rounds. 🙂

My retirement creds were going to be in jeopardy due to cataracts at next qualifying..

So I've been putting in the time to extend the range. This one pistol is, at least so far, the end of that evolution transitioning to RDSs. 15 yards it feels like cheating. 25 yards took more concentration than it did at 25 years of age for sure.

Growing old sucks...but not as much as not growing old. 🙂

Red dots(and green ones) are quickly becoming a favorite as my eyes get older also. I have had the LE Metal (all black) with a Holosun SCS on it since early this year. It's a great combination, no adapter plate and the green works very well with my eyes.
