:):)I just couldn't wait any longer. The weather was a 22 degrees "F" with a light wind. At least my shooting bench is enclosed and a Mister Heater takes the chill off.

My first target stand is at fifty feet. Putting up a temporary one at 20 to 25 feet was not for this day. That will be another day soon. All firing was at fifty feet today.

I fired a 125 grain HP first. As expected, the group was low on the target, 2-3/4" below the point of aim.

Next I fired a 148 grain HBWC and that load printed 1-1/2" above the point of aim.

The third load I fired was a 158 grain HP. This load also printed 1-1/2" above the point of aim, but it also shifted 3-1/2" to the right. I can only guess this shift to the right was due to how the revolver reacted to the load and how I grip it.

I fired another ten rounds of the 148 grain HBWC and the group was still centered on the target and 1-1/2" above the POA.

All groups fired were ten shots each and groups sizes were 2-1/2" to 3-1/2". That isn't too bad for a first outing with a gun I am not familar with. Trying other brands of ammo may be better or worse, but it is worth trying. Besides, this little gun is fun to shoot. I didn't find the recoil to be a problem.

I will report on my next outing. Hopefully some twenty to twenty five foot targets also.

You will like the 638. I have been carrying mine for 3 years or so. My little brother got a 637 at the same time. Both have been great guns.

We shoot them in the BUG Division at out Clubs monthly Defensive Pistol Match. We shoot them on the same course of fire as everything else in our match. The J frame 38's do just fine.

Enjoy It

Bob
