Collecting S&W's can be a lot of fun... some I shoot and some I don't. Finding various accessories to go with them can also be rewarding. Here's a grouping I just finished putting together.

I bought this M&P model in early December from one of the S&W Forum members, Canoeguy. It's an M&P model as issued to the Royal Hong Kong Customs & Excise Department. The backstrap is stamped C&E 1830. The lanyard ring came with the revolver and is typical of the Hong Kong police issues. The holster is a RHK Police issue that I got from one our our Australian S&WCA members. Thanks, Peter! :)

The Customs & Excise department was not only responsible for collecting duty revenues but protected Hong Kong against smuggling and detecting narcotics trafficking. They had a similar role as our US Customs Department.

After 156 years of British rule, including the "99 year lease", Britain returned Hong Kong to Chinese control on July 1, 1997.

Very nice.I wish I started collecting model 10's years ago. There is a lot of variations.

Linda,

Great presentation! You have quite a talent for finding nice guns and putting them together in a meaningful, historic context. Thanks much for the great post,

Jerry

I knew that revolver was going to a good home! I definately was never able to photograph it as well as Digi-Shots!

Nice picture, as usual. Hope to see you at the Virginia Beach show today....

Congratualtions on the excellent revolver and great photograph.

Outstanding gun and presentation, Linda. Thanks and Happy New Year!

RHKP

I have a RHKP Model 10, and was able to find an original lanyard by mailing my police department patch to HKPD Inspector who was in my FBI National Academy class. I wish that I'd asked for a holster. When I was in the Navy in the 60's, my destroyer did station duty in Hong Kong, and I would be sent with orders to Fenwick Pier for duty with the Shore Patrol unit there. Saw lots of HK police officers with lots of Model 10's.

Canoeguy, thanks for the kind words. It's a nice looking S&W.

Well.... did you find any Winchesters at the show?? :)

Linda,

Nothing at the show struck my fancy. There was a 94/22, but it was in .22 Magnum, I'm holding out for a .22 Long Rifle version.

I have a cousin who sets up at every show in the Tidewater area, has for at least the last 20 years, he had a mismatched 1906 .22 pump (serial numbers don't match). He's been carrying that around for at least a year, wants way too much for it.

That Virginia Beach show disappoints more than it excites usually. I'll probably take in the Hampton show at the end of the month....

I did get some free jerky for the pup Geraldine, who was waiting patiently in the car.
