So I have been playing with my new 642 a little bit today. I haven't gotten my ammo in yet to shoot it but from me opening and closing the cylinder there is a nice scratch behind the cylinder. Is this a normal thing?
Iv owned a few revolvers before and never noticed anything like this before.. Though Iv never owned a new revolver either until now.

Yeah, you're not gonna get around that "scratch."

Congratulations on a great little J-frame, and welcome to the Forum.:)

Thanks guys! Just waiting on my 500 rounds of Freedom Munitions HPs to get here so I can break her in! Haha

Freedom Munitions has pretty ammo at great prices. But no need to practice with HPs. They are more expensive. Just get their new or reloaded FMJ rounds and practice with those. And don't be afraid of their reloaded ammo, it is excellent and about the best priced 38 available anywhere.

Actually its their cheap HPs. The HPs are cheaper then their FMJs. 12.80 per box when I ordered bulk. I believe the FMJs were a dollar more a box! These arent really self defense HPs, they are not known for their expansion.

Okay! I just didnt know if that was normal or not. I was thinking.. Hmm.. This is going to wear something out fast.. But I guess not. Lol!
