Hello, everybody! I've been lurking on the forum for a while, and thought I'd post my recent acquisition of a nice Model 19-3 that I found on another forum.

I've been carrying autos for years, but I've always had a thing for the classic looks and lines of the Model 19, and I finally bit the bullet and picked up a blued, round butt Model 19 with a 2.5" barrel and the original stocks.

I will be picking it up when I go home on R&R next month, and I am excited as hell to take this piece out to the range and see what it'll do.

Will post pics as soon as I can!

Good for you. You have acquired one of the classics.

Enjoy it.

Welcome to Revolver World!

I actually own more Auto loaders than I do Revolvers, but my carry preference (as a civilian) is to carry a revolver for self defense. My reasoning is simple.........

I carry a M60 (2") 19 ounces with Buffalo Bore 158 Gr. +P LSWCHP which leaves the barrel from my 2" bbl at 1040 feet per second delivering 379 foot pounds of energy. It goes bang each and every time I pull the trigger, never jams or misfeeds, and is always ready for action. Can be carried safely with a round under the hammer, never needs cocking, can easily be operated by one hand, and if I ever do get a dud, I can simply pull the trigger again.

The Model 19 2 1/2" bbl. is a GREAT first plunge into revolvers, in fact, it's a GREAT gun anytime - IMHO it's one of the best they ever made, a real classic revolver!! Congratulations on your purchase, and welcome to the Forum.

Regards,

Congratulations. I also picked up a 19-3 2 1/2 inch recently and it is as good as it gets. I have a 19-3 6 inch that shoots like a rifle as well. The 19-3's are classics that will serve you well.

I want one. I got a 19-2 4" bbl. It;s hard to beat the balance of that gun...

thanks so much for your service to our country
congrats on a great choice in the M19
