First time gun owner and new to this forum

New to forum from Orange County, CA. Just bought my first firearm the Smith and Wesson AR-15 MP15 Sport. I just picked it up today after an enormous amount of paperwork thanks to Ca laws.

Now just need to find range to shoot at in the area and maybe some training.
Also would like to buy some pistols in the future.

Thanks everyone eventually we will retire to NV and get away from all this.

Lived in OC for 25 yrs. Tough to find ranges, especially outdoor ones, nearby...and getting firearms and ammo increasingly becoming more of a hassle. I'm in Vegas now...thank God.
Open carry, even in the car, concealed carry permits...no problem here.
Plenty of open desert for shooting. Oh, did I mention the buffets?

I used to live in SoCal, san fernando valley area. Frazier Park has a lot of areas that you can go to do some shooting. Also, plenty of areas in Palmdale/Lancaster area. My advice to a new gun owner...learn to take your gun apart and put it back together. It will increase your knowledge of how guns work very quickly, and there is always youtube if you get stuck. When it comes to guns, curiosity only kills the cat if you play with a loaded gun. Unload that thing and take it apart to see how all the little bits interact.
