Long time lurker - spent months surfing and doing research on tactical 22's.
Picked up an M&P 15-22 a few weeks ago - I live in NY so I had to get a compliant model.
Finally made it out to the country to my sister's house to try out the scopes I bought for it. Got a red dot and an NcStar 3-9x.
Went through 60 or so CCI mini-mags without a single problem. Sights were a bit off, but with the help of my brother-in -law, I think we got them dialed in. The 3-9x NC Star was spot on out of the box. The red dot took a few more magazines to sight in.
Next time out we are going around the corner to my bro-in-laws best friends house - he has a lane next to his horse run marked off for 20, 50, 100 and 150 yards - and a nice gun bench for really getting comfy on.
As much as my girlfriend hates it - I love this gun. I think I had a much fun cleaning it, too.
Some of my sheriff friends want to take it out to the range they use, but I have a feeling I won't get it back.
I will post some pics soon and and my gun to the picture link - I think it is time.
Thanks to all the posters on this site that helped sway my decision towards this gun. First cameras (spent many hours surfing the internet on those over the years), then to watches (you can't imagine how much time I spent obsessing over those) - now here.
