That sure would look nice next to my side hammer from about the same time period.

Is it drilled for a false muzzle? If it doesn't sell we might work out some sort of a trade.

Nice!!

If it doesn't sell, we'll have to talk.

Actually, I hope it sells as I don't really have anything I'm anxious to trade off.

But, who knows??? What are your interests?

I am open to suggestions !! If anyone knows anything about these guns, let me know. If any interesting trades - let me know that too. I have received email questions from the GB ad asking for details & stuff, but it is still there !!

Rikkn,
D.H. Hilliard of Cornish is a well know maker of underhammer sporting rifles. He was active from 1842 to 1877, so yours may or may not be Civil War era. I believe that he made a wide range of "quality".
I can't tell from your pictures if the stock is a fancy curly maple or a plainer grain wood. Also, does it have a patch box and any other inlays other than the ones shown? What is the barrel length and approx. weight?
Can you tell what condition the bore is in?
(It can be difficult in the smaller caliber muzzle loaders finding a light small enough to drop down the barrel.

Hey Dean, here is what I know about it, description wise : Barrel length, 25", super clean - almost unused looking bore ( I removed the nipple, put the light source there, and the bore lit up nicely, rifling is crisp and well defined. No patch box, wood is what I would call a fancy curly maple. Weight is 8 pounds. Give me a call, my #'s are in the GB ad.
