Nice to be in a free state... Picked up a 586 no dash in nickel yesterday at the Knoxville show. Paid a tad for it, $1,000 OTD, but meh, no biggie. It's in pristine condition and I generally don't sell my guns. I set out to buy a nice pre-lock S&W wheelie and $1K was my budget and she was definitely the belle of the ball at that show. There was a sweet 66 and a very nice Colt Trooper, but this is the gal that came home with me. ;)

Look for the N on the frame and cylinder to make sure it's a factory nickel job. From the looks of the hammer and trigger, I'm not so sure, but I'm no expert. Very nice pistol in any event . . .

Why would someone nickel plate a blued revolver? It's a 586, not a 686. ;)

N present in any case.

The 586 was made in either blue or nickel finish. The 686 was stainless only.

I have the same nickel 586 you just got. My wife bought it for me in 1984.

Personally, not usually into nickel revolvers, BUT - that's a very nice looking revolver!
I have a 6" Model 686 that I really enjoy shooting.

That sure is a beautiful piece. Welcome to Tennessee. Of course I'm sure you already know how close you are to a couple good wallet drainers. Smokey mountain knife works and buds gun shop.

Cool gun. I left (insert name of state that no longer trusts its citizens) for a free state 15 years ago with few regrets. Be sure to budget more for gun purchases. :)

Nice score.

After coming to free America 2 years ago, I've acquired countless guns. Most of which are 10-15% cheaper than the national average prices. I basically try to stay out of Pawn/Gun Shops. As it's guaranteed I'll find something to take home.

Very nice OP. I picked this 6" one up about 6 weeks ago. It is a 586 -2 so it was after the recall on the ND and -1's. Cylinder and frame stamped N. It is NIB

It's the only nickel gun I own Skyhunter, I normally feel the same but this one got me!
