Being cast as Spenser, revival of the Robert B Parker character played by Robert Urich. I like him as an actor, but he's really out of character here. I suppose they'll get Chris Rock or Kevin Hart as Hawk.
I used to think Skeet Ulrich was Robert Ulrich's son but they aren't related. In fact the kid invented that name. The originals son Skeet should get first dibs. Or Eastwoods kid, a whole lot cheaper too.
I agree, and you're closer to Indian Territory than I am and it did look a lot like Colorado when John Wayne was tracking "Ned Pepper".Has Hollywood and the TV guys run out of ideas for new shows? They just want to make remakes which are almost never as good the 2nd time around. I did like the new True Grit better, more realistic, sorry John Wayne.

I just shook my head and rolled my eyes when Mark Walberg played the Chuck Heston role in the later Planet Of The Apes.
Not only are they not related, their names are spelled differently.MAYBE HE IS, MAYBE HE AINT. Could be some splainin to do. I did not know that. You guys are so smart. Learned something new today, check. We were just talking last night about how much ARNOLDS kid with his maid, looks JUST like him

I think I've been misunderstood. The reference to Tom Cruise was as Jack Reacher, the first major miscast. Wahlberg follows as Spenser.Don't get me started! Still trying to get over the remake of "True Grit" with "The Dude" playing the role of "The Duke".
No, Cruise and Wahlberg have no place in a Robert B. Parker "Spenser" movie.

...I suppose the remake was better from an authenticity standpoint, and no question Matt Damon was an improvement over Glenn Campbell...
For me, Spenser, as characterized by Robt. Parker, was a 50/50 cross of Raymond Chandler's Philip Marlowe (quick witted and sarcastic) and Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer (tough as nails with a Gunny's temperament). Robert Urich never made me believe in the character.
"By God, Dude, that's a Colt's Dragoon!!". I loved both versions, but the newer one the most because it was like the book. And the little girl wasn't annoying like the first one.Don't get me started! Still trying to get over the remake of "True Grit" with "The Dude" playing the role of "The Duke".
