Fitting 7" barrel

What might be required for fitting a new 7" barrel to my current production 5.5" 41?
I hope only filing a little on the barrel's locking lug.

I too purchased a 41 e/w a 5.5" barrel new in 2012. Later I purchased a 7" barrel and it dropped right on. No modification required.

I’ve owned several 41’s and have had several spare barrels over a few years and they all have interchanged without any problems at all. If you do have a problem with the new barrel, give us a call for help. But I don’t think it will happen.

I have had a few different barrels for my M41 and all have dropped in. My current FAV is the 5" Sports/Field lightweight barrel. It actually shoots better than the 5 1/2" Bull and 7" barrels do. Could simply be the light weight.

You might have some issues where the trigger guard locks in, but I do believe it should just fit. If it is off, it certainly shouldn't be off by much.

A barrel swap on a 41 has always been a **** shoot - IMO. As stated earlier most drop right in while others require some adjustment to be installed. Hope yours is free of issues!

I purchased a 5.5" gun thinking that a 7" barrel would be easy to get. Wrong.
