Five Most Annoying Words for 2017; No Offense But I Disagree ...

I detest the modern standard of cursing. Including the language of the hip slick and cool, who are offended by what they deem as -fill in the blank- ist.
Knowing how to use cuss words effectively is an art to be left to only the most adept, and at the precisely correct time and place.
Bugger off you fecal eating wanker :D
Like that???? ;)

One that should be on the list:
Awesome

Ok, I have finally accepted that a concert by a bunch of musically-challenged clods can be awesome, at least to the speaker.

But when I say
"I just replaced the broken pencil sharpener."
"Awesome" ... that just doesn't rise to the level of awesome. "Okie Dokie" would be more appropriate. :D

Offended
This is a verbatim conversation once spoken at work:
"I'm offended by that."
"I'm offended that you're offended."

BOGO - meaning has changed

In the beginning: BOGO - Buy One and Get One - second one FREE

Now many ads have perverted the meaning.

Buy One and Get One at 50% off.
Second One no longer FREE.

I rate this DECEPTION right down there with FAT FREE SOUR CREAM.

Bekeart

There is a local car dealer here who has a bill board advertising "Buy one car and get a second one at full price."

There was a bar on Stock Island in the Keys that had a sign that said "Free beer tomorrow". Not sure if the sign, or the bar are still there.

The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else. Theodore Roosevelt

Most if not all of our problems today stem from the fact that we don't have leaders like Teddy Roosevelt (this isn't a political statement, but one about morals, courage, and self-reliance.)
