I don't know if a thread has been made for this or not, so I apologize for making it if it has. I can never get the search button to work to find this I am looking for. Anyways...

Is there a fixed stock or an adapter system so I can put a fixed AR stock onto my MP15-22. I hate the pinned 6 position stock they gave me here in NY. I can't adjust it, it is uncomfortable, and it wobbles like crazy. I would rather have a AR Fixed stock on this gun. Any input would be helpful. Thank you.

Russian Cosmo in NY? OK.

Anyway, I asked a similar question before, and the answer is not so good.

As the stock extension, which in the .223 is a buffer tube, is part of the
lower receiver, alteration is drastic, and all but irreversible.

There has been mention of drilling out the pin in the collapsible stock, but
it may get you in hot water in your state.

Best of luck...

I had the same question, in Mass we have to have fixed stocks and being a Vietnam era guy I like the old look of an original M16 stock, not these spider stocks.
as long as it worked I wouldn't mind it is was permanent!

Maybe this is a dumb idea, but if the buffer tube is "mil-spec" on the 15-22, is it plausible one could A: remove the buffer tube from the A2 stock and file a groove in the stock so the 15-22 buffer tube can fit? or B: file down the bottom of the buffer tube on the 15-22 so that it will slip into the the A2 stock?

OK.... guess there is no real answer then. Anyways, a fixed stock would be better than the "pinned" stock. The pin is supposed to be permanent and it fell out once already from the vibration of the gun.

Oh, and Russians live in NY by the way. :D

I am working on this stock issue now. I'm thinking it will work. But I take offence at that "russians live in New York" comment...everybody knows they came from Chicago, but reside in the white house now. :) probably going to get dinged for that but I could not resist.

What, besides warranty and the prospect of ruining their gun, is keeping someone from sawing off the fake buffer tube on the 15-22, drilling and tapping to accept a real buffer tube? I mean, is that really a stupid thing to think possible or could it be done?

That's kinda what I'm working on is removing the spring tube, replacing with adaptor plate, then make mating adaptors to fit other kinds of stocks. So far it looks like it will work. Might end up with a little over .50 extra length with adaptors included. Still tinkering with it.

Definitely keep us updated. I'm sure there are more than a few here on this forum that would want that mod to their guns.
