If anyone watched the TV series, "The Lost World", who made those flap holsters? I think it was an Australian firm, as they filmed there, in Queensland. (The show was really set in South America, but tropical Australia stood in.)
They were very stylish and reminded me of a Bianchi Model 16 that I have for six-inch barreled S&W K-frame guns. Mine is older than one shown here, and there are slight styling differences.
I've heard of some Aussie holster maker, but the name escapes me at the moment. Because legal carry by civilians is probably not allowed there, I can't think they have many holster makers.
Those on the show were NOT correct for the 1919-1922 period of the show. Just as Marguerite's SMLE .303 rifle wasn't correct with its Monte Carlo shaped stock comb.
These holsters housed, according to the character, a variety of hammerless guns (Marguerite), Colt .45 autos (Lord Roxton and Ned Malone), and a Colt SAA .45 (Prof. Challenger.). Both Ned and the killed-off Prof. Summerlee also used MK IV .38 Webleys. Roxton also sometimes wore nickeled Webley .455's with white grips in dual shoulder holsters. I thought those would be uncomfortable in a jungle setting.
